Trofeo Beppe Viola faces a key-day with semis in the crosshairs

Atalanta-Torino and Roma-Chievo are the two pivotal clashes. SPAL awaits Parma-Napoli outcome, while Hellas Verona and AC Milan keep an eye each other at a distance

There’s a great deal of uncertainty at 48th Trofeo Beppe Viola (7-12 March). Indeed, in spite of three teams boasting full points – Atalanta, AS Roma e ChievoVerona – none of them have carried the visa for the semifinals to be held on Sunday, March 10th at Arco – Via Pomerio venue so far.

With both at full points in Group D, AS Roma-Chievo clash (13h00 CET, Arco Romarzollo) ends the stage round as a kind of tiebreak, while Atalanta-Torino (13h00 CET, Arco Via Pomerio) makes qualification a business between them. Both win and draw fit to the Bergamo squad whose play impressed the most, but Torino wants to defend over the edge the title they got last year in Trentino.

It’s a toss-up in Group B because of Hellas Verona tackling Rappresentativa Dilettanti (15h15 CET, Riva del Garda Varone), with a slight advantage over AC Milan facing SS Lazio (15h15 CET, Arco Via Pomerio) aiming for win while hoping for Verona’s misstep. As far as Group C concerns, SPAL can only await the outcome of SS Napoli-Parma (15h15 CET, Arco Bolognano) to fullfil the dream to join the semis in their absolute “Beppe Viola” premiere.
